You may have already seen from our announcements. We’ve recently launched new price plans at Ship&co. As you begin exploring the new plans, we thought we’d share with you our thoughts behind why we launched the new price plans, and how you can benefit the most out of it.
What’s the change
Our previous price plan was a simple pay-as-you-go model. At the end of each month, payment is based on the number of shipments made for the month.
With our new plans, the Pay-as-You-Go plan remains, but we introduced two additional plans.
The Monthly Value Plan is a subscription-based plan. The smallest plan starts at USD 9 per month for 50 shipments (= USD 0.18 per shipment), and the unit price gets lower with higher volume plans selected. With the 3,000 shipments plan, each shipment is just USD 0.11. And if you happen to ship more than your plan’s volume, you simply pay for any additional shipments at the discounted price the following month, without having to worry about being auto-bumped to a higher plan (so if you’re on the 3,000 plan and ship 4,000, you simply pay for the extra 1,000 at USD 0.11 per shipment the following month). With this plan, we also plan to share new value-added features beyond the core features in the upcoming months that will help you save even more time and cost on shipping.
The Tailored Plan is similar to the Monthly Value Plan, but for large businesses. The difference is that we tailor a pricing plan that best meets the business’ needs - for example, additional discounts depending on the shipping carrier used. In addition, we provide extra customer support services, including technical support and dedicated support during setup.
Besides introducing these two new plans, we also introduced multi-currency options. Beyond just Japanese Yen (JPY), you can now choose to pay in USD, EUR, AUD, SGD, CNY, and KRW as well.
Why the change
Firstly, we realized that one size doesn’t fit all, and we need to offer flexibility for customers to choose what best meets each business’ needs. For a customer shipping from time to time, a simple, fuss-free plan with no monthly commitment. For a growing online business with regular volumes, a plan with value-added features and discounts. For a large business with high volumes, a plan with lower rates and additional support services.
Secondly, we wanted to partner with our customers in their growth journey. Over the past year, we’ve seen many of our customers grow their sales, and shipping increasingly larger volumes. As a commitment to partnering with our customers’ growth, we are offering lower prices as shipment volumes grow.
And finally, we introduced multi-currency payment options to cater to our international customers outside Japan, in light of our international expansion.
What it means for you
If you’re considering trying out with Ship&co for the first time, we now have a new Free Trial available. This comes with 14 days of unlimited shipments, with no setup fees and credit card required during this period, so we strongly encourage you to make the most out of this opportunity.
If you’re an existing or new user considering which plan to select, here are some guiding questions that may be helpful.
Do you ship only from time to time, and have relatively low volumes (less than 30 shipments per month)? If yes, the Pay-as-You-Go plan may be suitable for you. There is no monthly fee, and you pay what you shipped out at the end of each month.
Do you regularly ship more than 30 shipments per month? If yes, the Monthly Value Plan may be the best plan for you. While there are various monthly shipment volumes you can select with this plan, we suggest that you pick your volume based on the typical volumes you ship out each month. Not the minimum, not the maximum, but the typical, as you wouldn’t want to commit to a plan that’s too large, but at the same time, not miss out on discounts from larger volume plans.
Do you ship more than 3,000 volumes per month and/or plan to integrate Ship&co’s API into your existing systems? If so, the Tailored Plan may be the plan for you.
